Ok this is absurd. A guy tried to get a membership at a gym chain called ; Just Ladies Fitness' -ok first off what nimrod would think they could join a 'just ladies' gym? Ok, so then of course they denied his membership. And well as you can just imagine, he filed a discrimination suit against them HAHAHAHA LOLOL Can you BELIEVE THAT?
Not surprisingly, his discrimination suit was denied/turned down. WELL DUH.
Someone help me out here. I'm not a guy and I dont have a lawsuit trigger happy mentality. Why this all happened in the first place? Was he maybe thinking he could file a discrimination suit and that's why he tried joining in the first place? Why else would one even attempt to join a ladies only gym?
I'm still shaking my head here LOL

Edited to add that I am fully behind legitimate gender discrimination situations. But I just feel something like this is absurdly a waste of the court's time, as anyone who has an issue with 'women's only' gyms should take it up with those who make the legislation, not one business that is within legal rights to open a single-gender gym lol

I agree that the situation is absurd. But there are no men only gyms as far as I know. Can you imagine? They wouldn't be allowed to have them, because women would claim discrimination, due to the fact that they could have business meetings there and such. And the women would win.

I hate to say it, because I really do think this guy was looking for an easy way to make money, but I agree that having women only gyms is just as wrong as having men only establishments.

Ditto what Karateka said. It's always an important day in history if a woman gets into a "mens only" establishment, so why can't men try the same? It could have been more of a reverse-discrimination issue than money.

I think the guy tried to join the gym only so he could sue. But who knows. There are mommy and me classes that allow men in if they wanted they could say no men allowed but dont. I know there is a gym around here that is for only men cant think of the name right now but there is. But right next to it is a females gym so I dont really know why a female would want to go into a men only gym no telling what really goes on in there. LOL

I was reading today, because I was compelled to research this whole issue lol, that there are a few men only gyms cropping up because there are enough men out there who are intimidated by Ballys and those other places where people seem to go work out who dont need to work out and dont want their beer bellies hanging over their shorts for all to see. I see nothing wrong with that. And the company doesnt discriminate if they're refusing a guy because they very obvciously only cater to women in the first place. That would be like a guy coming into a bra store. well ok maybe not, i know there's a good analogy, just tonight is not hte night to think of anything lol. (sorry ,grotesque day at work, i'll come back to this tomorrow lol)
