Fluffy Cake Filling?

My Wilton instructor mentioned an easy, fluffy cake filling that used heavy cream, instant pudding mix and preserves.

I actually managed to make it once and it turned out great. Light, fluffy and not too sweet.

For some reason, I cannot reproduce the same results.

Does anyone have a recipe for a cake filling that has the consistency of whipped cream using anything like the ingredients I mentioned?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
