there are so sugar cookies recipes to choose from is there any that is easy to start out with first for beginners? i got a recipes tried it but it came out sooo hard help

I know what you mean, I had the same problem. Finally decided to just go with the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe on this site. It works great and tastes good. Don't overbake, and they are suppose to be light in color not too much browning.
