I am planning on decorating my cake with plumeria's. I just heard that these flowers have poison in them. My plan was to stick the blossoms directly into the frosting. Do I need to cover the part that will be stuck in the frosting? If so, what is the best way to do this? -Thanks-

Sorry, inedible. So I just found out the toxicity of plumeria (or Frangipani) causes Dermatitis - The juice, sap, or thorns of these plants may cause a skin rash or irritation.

Your best bet would be picks but your going to have to be really careful not to get any of it on the cake. The last thing you want is someone getting poisoned. Maybe talk to a florist about what you should use or subsitute.

If it were me, I'd skip using real plumeria period.
Could you make sugar flowers? Plumeria are relatively simple flowers. A little fondant and petal dust would do magic!

You could order the gumpaste flowers if you don't want to make them.

I you use the real flowers take special care that they never come into direct contact with the food, i.e. cake.
