I have been asked to do a Bridal Shower cake next week. The bride likes sea shells. I have never worked with fondant or gumpaste. I have only used bc and just started learning RI and CF. Anyone have any suggestions on making shells for this cake. It is going to be a sheet cake. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should mold them in chocolate icon_smile.gif The mold is pretty easy to come by. I've seen it everywhere.

If you look in my pics, the hawaiian cake has molded shells dusted with super pearl.

I made the shells in my pics using molds and candy melts and dusted them with luster and pearl dusts but you can also get a great effect by swirling the candy melt colors. It's pretty easy to do and if you go that route pm and I'll give you tips if you need it!

You could use candy melts and shell molds.

Sure, why not use candy molds? There are quit a few out there that are shells. I use them with the fondant. But I use to use them with candy. Swirl the white and chocolate together but not mixed then add to the mold. Let cool and then pop out and place on the cake.
