a customer or another baker locally? I ask this because I have recently had a customer who seemed disgruntled but come to find out I feel it is all a scam between the customer and another baker and business to maybe run me out of town because I came in on their "territory." A cake was ordered from me.... which did have problems.... have I corrected them before delivering the cake, but yet there were still issues in the customers eyes.... there have been numerous emails from said customer and I have even offered monetary refund, but they have yet to take it back, and have now even got another local baker in on calling me to say I am using my business name with their business name and they didn't appreciate the "use of my name with their good name", as if I would do such a thing.... so LONG story short, I think from the GET go it was all a scam to see what my product was like... and now they are trying to harrass me and get me out of their hair.. the "other" baker even went so far as to threaten legal action if she continued to hear my name paired with hers... which I know is not even lawsuit- doable because of hearsay..... so I just A. wanted to vent, and B. wanted to see if any of you had ever been harrassed weeks after your cake had been consumed by your customer or even another baker... doesn't this seem childish to you? Oh and get this.... said baker made the comment she knew she was the highest paid baker in town.... yet she also said she would have taken $60 for the cake I got $125 for.... so hmmmmmmm.. does that sound like friends and a hookup to you or what?

opinions, suggestions, just whatever you think would be nice.. should I let the dead dog lie, not respond or bark back?

If you have already apologized and made some monetary form of an apology (refund or whatever), then at this point I don't think there is anything else you can do. If you feel like this is a set-up, then at this point I would stop all communication. Do not answer any more phone calls or emails.
As for the other baker, there is nothing you can do if she is feeling threatened by you and your business. Her insecurity is her problem. If she mentions a lawsuit again, I would simply say "I look forward to hearing from your lawyer." I'm willing to be she is just full of hot air and trying to bait you into a fight.

Good luck.

That is terrible that they would do that - some people..

Why is she saying that you are pairing your name with their name? That part is really weird to me.

Very childish as you said, particularly her boast about being the highest paid baker in town. What???? Come on.
