My boys are 6 and 4, and recently decided that they want to use nightlights. Fine, except they kept unplugging them and the would get lsot. We put in dimmer switches on their regular lights and can turn them way down while they go to sleep. No more lost nightlights or replacing bulbs. They are less than $5 at Home Depot and very easy to install. I just thought I would share in case anyone elses kids use nightlights!

Anyone else have a tip that they would like to share?

oh thanks, i like that idea--DD has a light bulb stand --meant for those funky light bulbs that cost a mint--anyhoo i buy the bulbs w/ & w/out glitter & spikes (haha) after christmas, right now she has plain green--(red is awful BTW), so i know not to buy anymore of that color, it sits up high out of her way & out of danger

We bought an outlet cover from Lowes that actually has the nightlight built into it. It's great for younger children because you don't have to worry about them taking the nightlight out and having access to the outlet. It also has a sensor in it so it automatically turns on when the light in the room is turned off and turns off again when the light is on.

My daughter is only 1 and she doesnt care about the dark. She also never wanted to sleep in a crib so she has a huge queen mattress on the floor that she sleeps on. I guess she likes to play with toys and then sleep and then play and then sleep. So need less to say we have a brand new crib and she is only a year. The dimmer thing is awsome I saw that they sell those at walmart as well.
