I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who helped me with my no guideline situation and the great great links you provided me with. This website is a DREAM. So I took the advice and emailed my wilton supervisor and told her my situation (I was afraid she wouldn't let me teach the class lol) So she just laughed at me for being so nervous and emailed the guidelines to me immediately. The only people who took the class were my cousins from out of town, my aunt, mother, and grandmother. I preferred it that way because it was my first time teaching and this was sort of my practice class. I definitely made some mistakes. Kind of. The students are suppose to buy the kits ahead of time and make the frosting at home, well they didn't want to drive all the way to the mall until it was class time and Then buy there kits so I knew I would be making the frosting in the classroom. I wanted to arrive 30 minutes early so I would have time to do all that while they walked around the mall or something but nooo... they Insisted we all go up together and decided to pick me up 15 minutes before class was scheduled to start. (the mall is 15 minutes away). So finally at around 6:25 (class was to start at 6) I got everyone to sit down with all there supplies ready. I opened my new hand mixer (I knew using it would be a mistake, I only bought it to mix cake mixes and lighter foods like that, NOT ICING!) So I put the water in the bowl using the palm of my hand (I forgot my tablespoons at home, and since it was family I figured who cares, lol) added half of the sugar, mixed for maybe 20 seconds and then...... The mixer DIED! Completely Died! Its Dead..... haha and remember this is Royal Icing. which is suppose to be mixed for at least 5 minutes. I would have been happy with 3. Luckily I had a little tupperware container I brought with leftover royal icing from my house (why I even thought to bring it?) So we used that to build the houses and the not quite done icing to decorate. Thank god it was only really for snow and didn't have to stand to well. Plus I only added half of the sugar remember so there was just Barely enough and they couldn't put snow on the "ground" around there house.

And I LOVE The little trees. I made them before class with Ice-cream sugar cones and royal icing. SO CUTE!! Took about 15 minutes each though

I am so happy this was my practice class, I learned alot haha. But everyone had fun and all did excellent jobs. The ages of people who took the class are 16, 26, 28, 44, 49, & 77.

Then after class I threw away all the student reciepts and told the store manager I was leaving and he said "Do you have those student reciepts" Oops haha, So there I was digging threw the garbage. But I found them and all is well. Here are the pictures from class today:

I'm SO glad that it worked out well for you. I was concerned because I knew I would be going NUTS! icon_lol.gif
Next time you'll know what to do, no problem. Congrats!
