Can anybody help me out with this. Why does my dh butter cake always sink in the middle? icon_confused.gif What can I add or do to it because it is my mom's favorite cake but it is really bugging and I hate making it. icon_mad.gif Thanks guys icon_biggrin.gif

wow I have never had that problem and it is one of my most popular cake flavors.

I do spray my pan then lay a circle of parchment or wax paper then let it sit while I make up the cake mix. I don't add anything extra to my mix. I don't exactly follow the directions as far as mixing times...I mix it for a couple of seconds on low to get it all moist then on medium for about a minute or so then let the whole thing sit about 3-4 minutes before I pour it in the pan. I bake it at 325 for almost an hour, depending on how full i fill the pan...sometimes if I accidentally over fill it I will add a flower nail as a heating core and that helps.

I've had a cake (not dh butter) sink in the middle and it was because it wasn't quite done. Could it be that?
