I am planning on making some scarecrows using candy melts & using them as cake decorations. How long in advance can I make them? When storing them should I put them in an airtight plastic container, wrap them in wrap first, store in the freezer or fridge, etc? I'm just wondering b/c I'm going to be making quite a few cakes for my daughter's fall festival & would like to get as much out of the way as far in advance as possible. thanks
Chocolate and chocolate melts will keep for several months provided you keep them in a cool dry place as peg 818 recommends. Also in a dark place, such as a closet or cupboard. Heat and especially humidity will cause them to bloom (grey or white spots on surface). ![]()
