I find that if I just melt bakers chocolate and dip them, the chocolate coating is a little thick for my taste. If I dipped them in ganache, would the coating be thinner?

Yes, you can dip them in ganache, but they are verys soft to the touch. They melt right in your hand. It's not a bad thing if you are eating them right then icon_lol.gif . Did you try dipping the balls and then tapping off most of the chocolate. I find that dipping by hand works the best. Also, dip in semi-sweet chocolate, then it's not too sweet.

I use ganache if I have some left over, it works well but as stated above melts quick in your hands....still yummy though!
