This week at our local grocery store, they have the DH mixes on sale for .80 a box. If you buy 15 of them, the store has a coupon for $10.00 off. I got 15 boxes of DH for $2.00. Can you believe that?

I give .83 for DH at our Mal Mart. The store accross the street wants $1.75 for the same. Why they don't get a clue and lower their price I have no idea. I'd shop there if they weren't so high. I hate going to WM all the time but the next nearest stores are 30 miles away.

Wow, I'd have a basement stocked with cake mixes! I'm thrilled to get the mix for .88, which is at a WalMart that isn't all that close. The grocery store two blocks from my house wants $1.49. I'm green with envy!

I can get cake mixes at Giant Eagle for .96 every day. However, the Kroger store (literally) right across the street charges 2.49 every day. Can you even imagine what they are making on these things? I am going to have to scope out Wal-Mart...

The Wal-Mart usually has them for $.82 so I don't buy cake mixes anywhere else. I am not a big grocery shopper at Wal-Mart but will go there for those. icon_biggrin.gif

I don't mean to hi jack your post but I wanted to share in my excitement because the deal I got last week was even better. I'm in Arizona.

It was for Betty Crocker cake mixes. Some of our Safeway stores had them on sale for $1 each and some stores they were .79c each. They were running a baking promo where you could buy any ten of the items on the list and get an immediate $10 off at check out. So I got 20 mixes at a time and paid ZERO!!! I went to five different stores and ended up with 100 boxes for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! And to make it even better......(and you say what's better than free?) one of the stores that had them on sale for .79c each PAID ME the difference back!!!
10 mixes at .79c each=$7.90 less $10 promo = negative $2.10!!! So I made money for taking them off thier shelves! Go figure!!

I am not complaining but it really is sad that every single store I went to had a totally different policy on how this promo was to be done. The checkers had no idea what the baking promo was to begin with ( and it was right in their weekly ad), then when it came up as a negative dollar amount, that REALLY through them off. It is not their policy to pay customers back but obviously not every employee knows that. I even told the lady so!!

Anyway, I donated a lot of the cake mix to my children's school food drive for the holidays so I feel even better about that.

I dont know if this is a permanent thing or not, but Wal Mart reduced the price of every cake mix brand where I live. Duncan Hines was $.88 and now it's $.82. Pillsbury and Betty Crocker were both over $1.20 and now they are $.83 and $.88 respectively. Wal Mart has lots of baking things on sale right now.

I shop at walmart and usually get them at an average of maybe $.87 each. I couldn't even imagine paying $1.50-$2.50 for each box of cake mix! I went to quality markets once when i really needed one asap and it was $1.50! I dunno, I guess I don't get out much but I never thought stores charged that much.

Wow, you get some deals down there in the US of A!

I'm in Toronto; the best deal I've found is Loblaws grocery store - DH mixes 2 for $3. My WalMart only carries Betty C.

I think a shopping trip to Buffalo, NY might be in store for me.......trading obsessions - used to come back with a car full of clothes - now it will be a car full of cake mix, hee hee.

I noticed a sign yesterday at a local Gateway store that they had DH cake mixes for 68 cents each. I didn't get to stop yesterday but I'll bet the farm that I will stop today!
