Just wanted to give a "shout out" to the good brides. My policy on wedding cakes is that I get 1/2 a month before the wedding and then I like to get the other 1/2 2 weeks before. If I know the couple, I'll let them pay for the other 1/2 the day of the wedding. Anyway, in a small town, weddings are few and far inbetween. I offered this bride the 1/2 now and 1/2 the day of offer, and she told me that was fine, but her mom was paying for the cake so I needed to tell her mom. I told her to give her mom my # to make arrangements. Well, her mom called and paid for ALL of both cakes, bride and groom's today. How wonderful!
