I have to make a cake for a 79th Birthday for Saturday, and I have no idea what I am going to do. This cake is for a Grandmother's Surprise party, thats all I have to go on. They dont want it to be traditional at all.

This is just an idea...and maybe this will bump you so others can help too...BUT

What about a topsy turvy cake in bright colors with a 7 and a 9 on wire off the top layer..or even just flat on the top layer. The Hello Kitty cake in my pics has the colors I'm picturing. TOr even the cake that is my avatar....bigger pic in my photos. These would definitely NOT be traditional for a Grandmother's birthday. Just an idea. Good luck!

I agree with the topsy turvey cake. If this lady is like my grandmother, who went bungee jumping after her 79th birthday, she'd love a cake like that. If the colors are too much, maybe just suggest the design with more neutral colors.
