I'm making this cake and I don't have sour cream. Can I substitute mayo and do I still add the oil? Thanks, Kristen

I have not substituted mayonnaise, but I have substituted yogurt for the sour cream

Sour milk will work for sour cream too. 1/2 t. for every cup of milk and let set for a couple of minutes.

Mayo is not a good subsitute for sour cream. I'm with "mbasic" yogurt is your best subsitute.
