Can I Freeze A Decorated Fondant Cake?
Decorating By BlueDevil Updated 19 Sep 2007 , 5:50pm by darrahmomof3
I have been asked to do a cake for a ladies business development group...I want to help out, but I will be out of town the week of the meeting.
Can I decorate and freeze and ENTIRE decorated cake covered in fondant? If so, can anyone tell me how to store it and with thawing directions?
Many thanks!
Moisture and fondant do not mix. It makes it sticky. I would not do it.
Have done it successfully thanks to Gingersoave. Followed her instuctions to the T and It all turned out fine. You could Pm her or look for the topic called "FREEZING FONDANT COVERED CAKE". Haven't figured out how to post links yet.
Wrap well and freeze . Take cake out 1 day before needed and thaw in fridge. Take out day of event let come to room temp. Hope this helps.
