So I tried my egg cake for my turkey's body.....after an HOUR in the oven, it STILL wasn't done and was burnt to a crisp on top.

Help! Can I use a nail in the center of this pan, even though it's not level? Should I bake it at 325 instead of 350? The pan instructions said 350 for 30-40 min..........after 40 min, I turned it down to 325 and covered with foil, but after 20 more min, it still wasn't done.

What rack should I be baking this cake on? I think I have 4 or 5 slats for my racks.

I'll be going shopping (more cake supplies needed now lol) and then try again when I get home. icon_smile.gif

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Another question....if I add non-dairy liquid creamer to my icing, will it still be shelf stable until Thanksgiving?
