i love this site for what it offers to everyone....
we all learn from one another....we all have things to bring to the table...
we are BIG people not little children who need our mommys to keep us form hurfull words...
we all must be cutious to everyone and not hurtfull but in the same breath we cant sugar coat things for people......
too many threads have been locked for things that you would have thought 6 year olds wrote..
people please be honest but not rude
be kind and not hurtfull
be respectful of everyones words and works and we will haved a better nicer cake central with fewer locked threads.
happy cakeing...![]()
totally agree, hopefully its just stress from the start of the holiday season.
I think that this is a hard sometimes. Things can sound jaded but it reality they are not. Also some can take criticism very personally. Sometimes honesty can hurt someone without even trying. So many times what is supposed to be light hearted turns into something negative.
I agree 100%. I've been around for just over a year and I see things changing in recent times. Most people are still very helpful and kind but there has just been so much negativity lately.
I just hope it's a passing thing and things will get back to 'normal'.
Well, there are different personalities here. Some people are very bold, and others are very sensitive, and the mix is bad. That aside, some people just don't get along and nothing is going to change that. Best bet is to not reply in a taunting, retortive, catty manner to people you don't agree with or have already decided not to like.
Tact is important. It's always more than what you say...it's how you say it.
Some people want support for something they did, and when someone else points out something they should have done differently they get defensive and hurt. I don't really see a big problem with pointing out things like that, but I wouldn't patronize anyone or make them feel incompetent.
Anyway, I love this site, and I don't think an occassional cat fight is really ruining this site. It's usually the same people involved, anyway, so maybe they should just PM each other and duke it out without dragging everyone else into it.

.....just rember that it is not so easy to express yourself in a forum- things that aren't ment to be sntty can seem that way- since you cant "hear" a persons tone and inflections
and remeber
the golden rule !!
I'm trying to say this tactfully, so please take it that way.
If I see something that is rude, or I perceive it to be, I remember that #1, we're online and emotion is ridiculously hard to correctly asses through text and that I may be reading more into than was originally intended and #2, I'm an adult and can ignore it and not reply to the post, or if I must reply to the most I can simply ignore the offender's portion.
If everyone stopped replying to comments that were offensive, they'd go away and it wouldn't cause drama. Bringing attention to drama is unnecessary and quite frankly, I think it's just as bad as starting the drama.
And that is all I will ever say about this.
