Ok, so I am a newbie....especially when it comes to flowers on a cake. I have been practicing on my roses....and I am taking my first Wilton cake class on the 4th...but if you look in my photos...the "Martha Stewart" inspired cake....my pink flowers are so huge...they stick out...how do I get them to be more against the cake....thin the icing more? Thanks!

Just wanted to say that I love your cake, I love the colurs it is so unique....what tip are you using for the flowers....it looks like 2D to me....when I use that tip (if that is what you are using) I always do swirl drop flowers....here is the link....if they still stick up a bit, I take a decorator brush dipped in cornstarch and flatten them down a bit....hope that helps!!!

Yeah it was the 2D tip...I did the swirl...well I tried to do the swirl...and when I was done I tried dipping my finger in cornstarch to flatten them...but they were too crusted and looked funny...so I just let them stick up. Thanks for the compliment!
