I Would Like Your Opinion On The Price Of This Cake

It will be a tiered cake to feed 130 people..
Vanilla cake, chocolate mousse with fresh banana filling, buttercream icing.
Decorations will be chocolate sea shells and cookie crumb sand.
I will proably do a stacked cake. And I will be transporting it from my home in NJ to a boat in NYC. (about a 30 -40 minute trip, depending on traffic)
The cake is for a sweet 16
I was going to charge $325
Your 325.00 sounds very reasonable to me, especially since you are delivering the cake to them. Are you charging extra for delivery? Honestly, I think you should charge extra for delivery that far away. Yesterday I had a 30 mile one way delivery and my charge for that was $20.00 over and above the cost of the cake. People are most always happy to pay the delivery fee.
Atleast that, make sure you charge for delivery, thats a distance and especially with the price of gas.
The price listed would include delivery and set-up
I think that's a very fair price for the customer.
Can't wait to see the finished cake!
If you live in North Jersey, the going rate for a stacked cake is at least $4.00 per serving. Delivering a stacked cake is very nervewracking! I would definitely charge for delivery. I'm doing a similar cake ( stacked, white chocolate shells, cookie crumb sand) for a wedding in South Jersey this weekend for 120 people and I'm charging $525.00. (delivery included)
I work for a company that alot of the salesman travel if they drive, right now the rate is $0.485 per mile. Thats what I usually charge if it out of my area, there and back
MAGGISMITH... I live in Bayonne.. thinking about it... you are probably right about the price pp. I just did a wedding cake this past weekend and it came out to about that price point. I am not sure about that pricing for a sweet 16. But, I guess a tiered cake is a tiered cake.. the nature of the event does not make a difference.
Sounds very reasonable to me! Go for it! ![]()
