I am in search of a good stand that I can use for a cupcake displays. It needs to hold +100 and a 6" round on the top. I've got a wedding booked for 10-13 so I need it fairly quickly. Anyone have a good source?

I did a cupcake wedding back in March. I used the Tall Tier Cake Stand from Wilton. It has several tiers you can use from 8" to 18" . Hope this helps. I am pretty sure you can pick it up at Michaels or even Hobby Lobby.

If you are good with tools or know someone who is Antonia74 did a thread on making a beautiful cupcake stand. It hold 144 cupcakes or 140 and a 8in on top. Here is the link below. HTH

...or you can buy an excellent stand from Boss Manufacturing:

www.bossmanufacturing.com

They are solid metal, come in different shapes (round/square), dismantle so you don't have to use all the tiers at once and it comes in different colours. It's an investment, but if you rent them out for $ it pays for itself very, very quickly! icon_smile.gif

Mine holds about 120-130 of my large cupcakes and a 5" cake (on a 6" board) on top. You just have to make a small hole in the bottom of your cake board before you start baking/icing the top cake, so that it can sit on that metal nut on top with no problem!

Antonia, I just ordered mine. Upon seeing your pictures, though, I had to call back and switch from silver to white. I was worried about mixing the white stand with an ivory cake but yours look great.

They didn't have silver or those great new shades when I bought mine....but I'm still glad I bought white. It's so neutral and goes pretty much with every wedding! icon_smile.gif

antonio74-- would you please tell me what tip you used to ice the cupcakes in the second photo?

Both those photos used the same tip.

It's Italian Meringue buttercream, just in case that's a better icing for swirls?

I use BC, so maybe IMBC is better for that!
