I am planning on entering a cake in our county fair next week and I would like to use the WASC recipe. However, the rules state that you cannot use a recipe that uses a box cake mix as its base. I know the judges would never guess this cake has a cake mix for a base, but I have to present a copy of the recipe with the cake. I don't have a lot of time to experiment with this and I am good at following recipes but not creating or changing them. Can anyone help me with this? Is it possible to make this recipe by substituting other ingredients for the white cake mix? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sorry I can not help you with this one, but would like to give you a "bump" since I want to make this cake, but can not get cake mix in my country.

How about using these "homemade" mixes...I found this link posted by JanH on another thread.

Thanks, adawndria!! I had seen this recipe before but had forgotten about it. It may be a good alternative if no one can help me with the WASC recipe.
