Fill your bowl about 2/3 full, put a heating core or a flower nail in the bottom and bake at 325 till a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean (time depends on size of bowl but usually takes a long time

When I baked my Fall Flowers cake (in my gallery), I used a clear Pyrex bowl. I just greased it well with the Wilton pan coating, and filled it to about 2/3 full. I baked it at 325 degrees for (I think) between 45 minutes and an hour.
It ends up looking a little funky on the top, because of the sloped sides rising and tipping in early on, but leveling took care of that.
I used an 8" diameter bowl (at the top) and didn't use a heating core/flower nail, and it was fine. For a larger bowl, I would suggest using one or the other.

Edited to correct the embarassing typos (e.g. "fowl" for bowl!)
How big of a bowl are you using? I'v used the small bowl (2qts maybe?), and I think I baked it at 325 for about an hour and 15 min. If you're using a bigger bowl, you might want to use a flower nail as a baking core. I've read that on here before but never done it. Good luck![]()
I tried baking in a pyrex bowl before I even knew about this site and the cake came out good.... I just baked it at 325 for 35-40 minutes and then checked after that with a toothpick every 5 minutes until it was clean. I think the total time ended up being 1hr and it cake out really tastey!!
