Need Help With Ideas For A Cake... Please!!!

I was asked by my principal to make a cake for Friday. My Assistant Principal is defending her doctoral dissertation this week, and he wants to have a surprise Congrats party for her after school. I have no idea of what to make, other than a sheet cake. It's for about 50-60 people.
