to who I contact about becoming licensed? I'm clueless as to where I start! TIA!
I'm pretty sure it's the Department of Agriculture. Of course, the Health Department also has to inspect your kitchen and all that...but I believe when I got my first packet of info about starting up a business, it was from the DoA. ![]()
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond! I really appreciate it!
You need to contact the Dept of Agriculture for getting inspected for home based bakery in the state of Virginia - I'm currently waiting to schedule my appointment for my inspection. I was told I would be hearing this week from the inspector. Be prepared there is a lot of paperwork that goes into this so it's going to take time, don't expect it to happen over night. You need to get inspected before you can get your business license.

Sassycleo, Can you let us know what steps have you taken. to get in inspection. Are we allowed to use our own kitchen to bake from and does everything need to be seperated from our own home use things in order to pass. what are the most important thing that we should know that we should do to get ready when we want to go legal.
thanks ahead of time
