Does anyone know how I can get an extra cup of batter out of a yellow DH mix? I already add an extra egg and pudding mix. I don't have any sour cream or yogurt so extender is out of the picture, unfortunatly. I would really hate to make an entire second mix just for one cup of batter. My freezer is already full of scraps for cake balls, so I don't need any more of those!!! Thanks! I know someone will have a brilliant idea!

I have used just half of a dh cake mix before. However that is going to get you a little more than a cup, but you won't be wasting a whole cake mix. I just half the ingredients. If it calls for 3 eggs though I use 2. I do this all the time.

Hope this helps

I just add a cup of flour and a pinch of baking soda and a little sugar. Several people have mentioned adding some meringue powder to make their cakes rise higher. HTH!
