I've been reading in a lot of threads about using these straws as supports in tiered/stacked cakes. I'm a little confused as to how these are being used. Are you using these in place of the wooden dowel rods or in conjuction with the dowel rods? Thanks for the help!

I've been using it to replace the wooden dowel rods. They are definitely easier to cut icon_biggrin.gif The only time I don't use it is when I need a center dowel.

I know what you mean about cutting the wooden dowel rods... I absolutely hate it. I have started using a Dremel tool with a cutting disc and that has made it much easier, however I never cut it straight enough so I'm always going back to smooth and even out the end.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll have to give these a try.
