I think that me and my husband are going to go into debt over my cheesecake factory addiction. It's just soooooo good!! I wanted to know if anybody had any recipes/ideas for a similar taste/texture. Also wanted to know how to make the variations like they do. For instance, my favorite is a lemon rasberry. It has a bottom layer of rasberry/lemon swirl cake, middle layer of lemon cheesecake, a layer of whipped cream, and then a berry sauce/glaze. When you have a layered cake like that, do you bake two separate cakes and then put them on top of each other? Or can you put the layers in your pan and bake them together. Geez - I didn't realize this was gonna be so much, but I really love this.....

Thanks to whoever responds.... icon_biggrin.gif

I don't know about cake, but I have a cheesecake recipe that has a bottom layer of brownie. You put the brownie batter in the pan first and bake it, not quite done, and then pour the cheesecake batter on top and cook until done. I would think it would work the same for a cake batter?

I also love Cheesecake Factory and can't pass one without going in. I also wanted to know how to make the cake on the bottom since it does not appear that the cake is seperate from the cheesecake. This is what I finally came up with and it works well. I make the cake mix and put about a half to three quarters of an inch of batter in my springform pan. I bake this for 8 to 10 minutes. It does not brown but firms just a little. I let it cool and then pour my cheesecake over the cake. I wrap the bottom on my pan in heavy duty aluminum foil and bake the cheesecake as normal. It works.

Edited to add: I put parchment paper in the bottom of my springform pan and I spray the parchment also.

Megan,
I have a recipe for a white chocolate cheesecake with a chocolate layer. I also have a red velvet cheesecake. I have made my basic cheesecake with a banana layer (this was my experiment after my last Cheesecake Factory visit lol). I have made the basic cheesecake with lemon topping and a lemon layer. I actually just took two red velvet cheesecakes out of my oven for our family dinner on Sunday. I have a cousin who loves cheesecakes and expects one for every family gathering.

HTH

Zmama,
If you are asking me to share, I will gladly share recipes. Which ones do you want or do you want them all? I will get them typed and be happy to send them.

Edited to add: It just dawned on me that you might be asking to share cheesecake since I just took two out of the oven. It is late and I am kinda brain dead lol. Oh well, I will share either or both lol

Um, YES to both!

I am not a cheesecake maker, or wedding cake baker, but my fiance LOVES cheesecake and pineapple upside-down cake. I figure cheesecake would be better for the wedding since frosting the other is a sin in his world. We're making our own wedding cake, so gotta collect (and start practicing) those recipes now! It gives me a few months to try, right? icon_rolleyes.gif

Waiting to buy the dress till after the weight goes up and down from all the practicing! icon_cry.gif
