I have been asked to do a cake (first "stranger" cake icon_lol.gif ) for 3 people: a school teacher, a fisherman and a tennis player. The customer left it up to me.... The only request that she had was that the cake be chocolate.

My ideas tend to be either a sheet cake (mentioned by the customer), maybe the large oval to make it different or a two-tier of some kind?

The talent and ideas here was my first thought for inspiration when she called! I don't have to have the cake ready until next Weds morning.

Help please! icon_smile.gif

Maybe section off a sheetcake to do 3 sections of designs.

That is really a tough one since they don't have anything to do with one another.

Or you could have a teacher in a boat on a pond fishing with a pencil fishing rod caching a tennis ball LOL.

maybe you could do 3 small cakes - an apple, a fish, and a tennis ball

I've searched and saw the little boat, ABC's etc., and of course the tennis ball.....
I'm kinda at a loss. I was sorta thinking about a 10 x 3" with the different symbols (fish, ruler, rackets....) just randomly scattered (in some kind of pattern - maybe taking a third each) around the sides and Happy Birthday on the top?.....

The 3 separate cakes had popped into my mind! May have to call the customer and ask if she would go along with that!

A tennis player, a teacher and a fisherman walk into a bar...LOL. Sorry not helping am i? I think if you do a sheet cake and section it off 3 ways it would make the most sense. Maybe a chalkboard, a pic of a tennis racket or tennis court, and then a pond with a boat, or a big fish. HTH

Yeah! that sounds do-able! And then around the bottom border/side of cake, put little symbols for each? I may need to go to the bar then make the cake... icon_lol.gif

I would do a small 3 tier cake each one representing a different "theme". What kind of a price is she willing to pay?

How about a teacher at the front of the room writing on blackboard, kid with fishing pole sneaking out the door, and a kid sitting at desk bouncing ball on tennis racket.

Like I said, that was one of my first thoughts (tiered cake). She said for me to figure up a cost including time and she'd "bring my cash"...
Besides the stress of it being my first "stranger cake" it's the first time I've been asked "to figure up a cost". icon_surprised.gif

how about a fishing pole with a fish on one page /and a tennis racket and ball on the other. Simple and to the point. You've incorporated all 3.

Thanks!! icon_lol.gif

I know, this one's gonna be a fun challenge.... I think I'm leaning towards the 3 small individual cakes but I'm afraid she wanted just the one cake for all of them??
At the top of the page(s), I could put class schedule/layout?
Thanks!!! Now I'm getting an idea!!
I knew CC'rs would be the answer!!
