Hi Everyone,

I am currently taking Toba Garrett's Cake Decorating I class at ICE in NYC and I am loving it. I just finished week 2 of a 5 week class and really am enjoying it. I have to say THANKS to wonderful CC I understand a lot of what she teaches and talks about thumbs_up.gif So far she has been much friendlier than in the cookie class I took a few months back. She is talking about how she got started and how hard this "career" can be and I only use quotes because I can't call what I have a career icon_biggrin.gif since I have only done a few cakes icon_lol.gif If anyone has the chance to take it I'd highly recommed it. If you are supertalented than this might not be enough for you but I am just starting out. She even signed my book for me icon_biggrin.gif

Wow! Sounds fantastic! Her books are some of my very favorites--for the pictures, explanations and recipes. She does great work! So glad to hear you are enjoying your experience--and a little envious about your now-autographed-book! icon_eek.gif (Too neat!)

she has talked about different jobs shes had here and there. What I like it that you can ask her questions for yourself. For instance I asked her if I wanted to start out as a home baker and in my dream world have a store front one day did she think Pastry school was necessary. She said cake decorating was such a small part of the program that she didn't feel it was necessary at all. She saved me and DH a lot of money icon_lol.gif

Can you ask her if she is ever coming to Miami? I Know she is schedule for Orlando next year,

I would love to take her class, but she is NYC.
