I am making a 3 tier bridal shower cake. One tier I am going to do in a flourless chocolate cake because the bride is allergic to wheat. So I want to come up with some fancy cakes for the other 2 layers. Anyone have any suggestions? thanks

Do all the tiers have to be flourless?

If not, I always thought a champagne cake would be nice for a special event. Or coconut cake with lime curd?

No they don't have to be flourless. The champagne cake sounds different. Do you have a recipe? I made a coconut cake this weekend and it all fell apart taking it out of the pan and I had to trash it.

Well, this is the one I've been saving to try http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1119-1-Champagne-Cake-I.html

But I've also read you can use a mix and sub. champagne for the water on the box.
