So today was my first cake disaster. I made a three tiered Backyardigans cake for a huge birthday party, and when I went to deliver it, it shifted and the cake on the bottom just crumbled on one side. icon_cry.gif I was able to save the top two tiers, and they kept the bottom tier to use the 3/4 of it that survived because they needed the cake. I doweled the cake and used all the support that I was supposed to but I think my cake just wasn't sturdy enough. Are there any good recipes out there to use that are sturdy and hold up well when dealing with fondant? Any suggestions on what to do next time? I have another cake due this next Saturday and now I'm a little scared of having the same thing happen! I have a picture of the cake before the disaster that I will post in the morning. I love this cake! I wish I could have delivered it in one piece, but I guess this is one of those things that you learn form and move on. icon_redface.gif

I use the enhanced cake formula from here and I didn't have any problems with the two cakes I have stacked.
