I am wanting to take my cake matrix to the next level. It already tells me how much cake mix and frosting I need for the cake as well as figuring out the price to charge, but I don't include torting and filling.

So... I need to know VOLUME of filling for each layer. I would assume if I torte a cake twice, I would need twice as much filling... but I need to know how much each size cake takes....

Does anyone know where I can get that information?

I think I saw a chart on ladycakes with filling amounts for different size cakes. As for volume, that's math - and out of my league!! icon_lol.gif

I'm a math teacher, so the math shouldn't be a problem. I've thought of just doing some math, but I am thinking there are issues that I am not considering. For example, if I figure out the volume of a cake with x diameter and y height... how do I translate that to OUNCES?

For my 9" round cakes, I put approximately 4oz of filling in between each layer. I never really calculated how much filling for other size cakes.

Thanks! I can figure out unit volume from that icon_smile.gif

Is that per layer? If you double tort the cake do you use double?

..for a 3 layer cake, I would use a total of 8oz of filling. So, in between each layer of cake, there is 4oz of filling. I hope I explained that ok.
