i would love to become an apprentice for a decorator. anyone know how to go about that?
I'd type up a resume and call/visit who you can and ask for the job. Look and sound as professional as possible, have in mind how much if anything you need to earn. Tell them what you want to do and see if they have something similar to offer. Can't hurt to come right out and ask.
alright. great ideas. i guess as soon as my babies get a bit older (and i get a bit more experience at decorating) i will start working on it.
Alrighty, I have a similar question: what if you haven't attended a pastry school?
I'm self-taught, not even a wilton class, just lots of internet and fooling around at home. Do you think anyone would consider it then? I'm afraid I'd have to be beyond creative when submitting a resume... maybe a resume in chocolate or RI? ![]()
yeah make a sheet cake and write ur resume on the cake with icing! lol
That's what I was thinking!
Actually, if I were to actually muster up the kahones to do something like that, I'd be really ambitous and do a sheet cake, but use a chocolate transfer to simulate pretty stationary, then pipe the resume on the chocolate so they could save it and eat the cake, too. It sounds really cool, but I don't have a bakery nearby worthy of that kind of effort...
If I lived near Duff or Browen, it'd be a different story...*sigh*
well if u ever decide to do it, send me a pic! ![]()
