Hello again! icon_biggrin.gif I would think that with the scallops around the cake plates, you're going to have a gap between your two layers.... you're going to have to cut your whole in the bottom tier at least 1" wider than the top tier so you can fit the plate in...does that make any sense?? LOL... maybe if you make your fondant balls big enough, it will cover the space up, then I think that would work great!

I would NOT use the plastic plates and use cake boards. This will allow you to put a center dowel through the entire cake for support especially if you are transporting the cake. Don't forget to dowel under each tier as well.

I wouldn't use those plates for a topsy turvey. Those are mainly for using with the columns that Wilton sells. If you look in my photos at the celestial cake I learned the hard way. I was doing just a stacked cake and I used the plastic dowels and my top tier was about 1/2" above my bottom. But, it was just for friends and family soo they didn't care or notice!

I believe it is this website were you want to find those separator plates.
They are like the ones they show on the CC tutorial! But, if you don't have time you would need to use the cardboard.http://www.countrykitchensa.com/

Look at this tutorial and see if that would work better for you! I am thinking of using this technique next month!
Good luck!

(edited for weird spacing! LOL)
