My bil wants a cream cheese frosting on his birthday cake. Any ideas for a great recipe? ( I just printed the one from Ahvon's Red Velvet cake from the recipe section.) And does cream cheese frosting crust? If not, how do you smooth it, and can you decorate with it? Or should I use the mocha buttercream I just made? (The cake is mocha.) The party is next Saturday.

Here's a link to all the CC cream cheese frostings:

At least one of the recipes does crust.

The decorators cream cheese frosting in the recipe section is good. I found it does better if you do let the butter and cream cheese come to room temp before using. I've rushed it before and not had as good of a consistency that I wanted. You can make it any flavor you want with different extracts.

yes, I have done borders and scrolls with it, but I have not written with it but I'm sure it would be no problem. The pink baby shower cake in my photos uses cream cheese frosting on the top 6' layer and then I used it on the cupcakes that coordinate with it as well which is also in my photos.

Good luck! icon_smile.gif
