I had an idea for a cake using edible images and have some questions.

1. I've only seen them flat on sheetcakes - can you attach the photos to the sides of a round or square cake? And if so, can you point me to thin the right direction or post a picture of a cake like this?

2. I was wanting the images to be in a sepia tone to blend with the fall colors that I am doing - does the picture I provide to be scanned already need to be done in a sepia tone or will the place doing it be able to change it from color to sepia.

3. Is this process easy to do? icon_razz.gif

Thanks for any help you can give.....

you can put the images on the sides of round cakes... here is an example of one I did.

re the sepia... I have my own printer so I am not positive on what they would have at the store.. but I would think you should do it yourself so it is done correctly...

hope this helps...

very cool!

do I have to have it the exact size or can they do resizing before they print?

Thanks icon_smile.gif

I am not sure on that.. I have not used someone else to print mine..

but again I would do it before hand that way you know it will be the size you want..

good luck..and hope to see a pic of your completed cake soon.. icon_smile.gif

Everything will depend on the program your service provider (bakery or supply store) is using. One of the most common is KopyKake. I would suggest you talk to them first and ask them these questions. I'm sure they will be more than happy to answer your questions. This way you will know what you need to do to prepare.

thanks, guys! I'm actually taking a class tomorrow so I can ask the owner at the cake store what she uses. I just not sure what my access to pics is going to be because the pic aspect of it will be a surprise to the family. I'm going to have to be sneaky!! icon_wink.gif
