Someone on here has made heart shaped cakes, one to look like a tux and one to look like a wedding dress...Something like that would be great for an engagement party. I'll try to see if I can find the link so you can see.

No, but those are cute, too. The ones I'm trying to find, the tuxedo is white as well as the dress. I have it saved to my hard drive, but (of course) I didn't put the artist down, so I don't want to put in on here without knowing who to give credit to. Anyway, that picture lomikesa posted gives you the general idea of what I'm talking about.

Do they have any kind of theme for the wedding you can work from?

Or maybe they got engaged at a special place or special way?

you can always do something different but elegant, like a ring "tiffany" box w/. lid and tissue coming out. and the rings on top.

If she is just announcing the engagement I would probably do a half sheet with a jewelry box on top and the ring inside???? Just a thought. The wedding dress and tuxedo are beautiful though.

i think it could really depend on what the lady wants ... you could do someting pretty simple (or simply pretty) in the colors she is using at the wedding. i just uploaded a cake that was really easy but it came out really nice ... the Wilton presses and some sugar glitter go a LONG way!! putting their names on it is always sweet (what bride-to-be doesn't want to see her name next to her sweetheart's name?!) hope you find just what you're looking for!

All I have to say is that if I ever have someone balk at the price of my cakes I am refering them to Toba Garret!! 20-25 servings for $1500!! wow!

i was just looking at your pics ... the tulips one could be a springboard. maybe in soft 'wedding' colors and then "Congratulations _____&____" and then do a two layer so that there are enough servings. or you do a lot of bows ... stacked gifts is a cute idea. trying to think of a "gifts" quote that would go well with love ... thinking...

How about a pile of gifts with a Tiffany box or ring box on the top? I searched Tiffany and all kinds of great cakes came up!

I have Toba Garrett's book, but I have never seen her website! I want her job. Cookie to serve 2 for $125! OMG...People balk when I say $4!!!! That's $75 per serving (1/2 cookie). Well, I guess if she can get it then why not! (I'm just jealous!)

Thanks for looking at my pictures, I am fairly new at this, I took a few Wilton courses last year, I started doing this just for my friends but I am getting lots of referral and this site is great for Ideas.

I will see what she thinks of the Tux or tulips.

Thanks again,

Go to her website, and take a look at her cakes, the details are amazing, but I still think she is expensive.
