How long does it usually take for you to decorate a cake? Let say a cake to feed 50 people, covered in fondant with fondant accents. I am try to figure out if i need to spend more time on them or if i am spending to much time decorating.

I don't really think there is a correct "time spent". It all depends on your comfort and skill level, experience, and the design of the cake. What really depends is the end result. As long as your cake comes out nice, you spent the right amount of time on it! thumbs_up.gif

i think it depends on how well you can buttercream a cake ... sometimes fondant is a life saver for a poorly iced cake ... sometimes it's a nightmare if you can't get a good layer laid down. So it would be dependant on how fast and well you can do both (that wasn't much help now was it! icon_confused.gif ) honestly i wouldn't charge more for fondant because of time ... i would charge according to price (satin ice is expensive ... mmf is cheap). sorry i wasn't more of a help. icon_smile.gif
