icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I spent hours on this cake. I mean hours! This am I felt rushed which is never a good sign. I start my cake, fill it, crumb coat it and the drama begins! Somehow one of my dowels was wayyyy off (DH cut them, poor guy!) so my top tier was lopsided and I had to take it off. My second attempt, I dropped my top tier leaving a HUGE dent in my BC! Okay easy fix right? i got my paper towel and got busy. Fixed! I get my ribbon on no problem, probably the ln thing that went rght. icon_wink.gif I added my flowers and took pics. I was sooooo proud of this cake! DH and I box it up and off we go. . .I keep hearing this quite thumping sound. I asked DH to check on the cake. . .He says, "Are these flowers supposed to be laying in the box? icon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_eek.gif NOOOOOOOOO! About half of my flowers fell off! Thankfully I brought a "fix kit" and tried my best to salvage my sweet little cake. It was like trying to polish a turd! The more I tried to fix the worse it looked. Thankfully the worse damage was in the back. Thank God no one payed for this but I still left EMBARRASSED!!!!! icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif I felt that lump in the throat and ducked out the back door. I hate to spend that much time to only watch something self-destruct. What I learned. . .Never try a different BC recipe! Stick with what you KNOW works! Oh! It's my pink cake in my gallery called Molly's cake.

That cake looks GREAT. Just curious though. What buttercream were you using and which one did you switch to. I've had problems with my buttercream sliding off of my cake and lots if air holes. I'm thinking of trying a new icing myself. Love the flowers on your cake.

What a total bummer to have a cake that delightful just turn on you that way. It's gorgeous, and with your talent I'll bet the "after" cake looked a lot better than you thought icon_smile.gif.

This pic was pre-disaster! I didn't take a post-disaster pic as I wanted to remember it pretty instead of stuck together with BC. HAHAHAHA I use Makin's Ultimate. I love it. For my big, thick flowers I ue a cheapie and it has a huge opening! Thanks for making me feel better but trust me, the end result of little pinkie wasn't so great! Thank God it looked the worse on the back! I use a bc very similar to sugarshacks bc which I love! The one I used to day had a lot of butter in it and just didn't weather the 40 minute car ride. I know better!!!! Never again!
