I am trying to make a Washington Redskins cake, whose colors are burgundy and gold. I can't get the colors right. I need to do this with Wilton colors because of course the store nearest to me that sells AmeriColor is out of burgundy. All the charts I found on this site and others say to use Red-Red and Burgundy, but when using these colors with Wilton coloring, all I am getting is a "brick" color. Any suggestions on how to get these colors to work would be greatly appreciated. icon_cry.gif

I did a Redskins helmet (pic posted in my photos)and had the same problem. In the end it turned out pretty close though ...I used a lot of Wilton Burgundy and a little bit of black!

Ok, I'll give that a try. I've gone through and wasted so much frosting I'm at the end of my rope with this cake. Thank you icon_smile.gif

I used burgundy and red on mine. Quite a lot of burgundy until I realized it wasn't the right color and then added red little by little. The wilton burgundy isn't really burgundy like i thought it would be, it was too purple.
