so I made this jungle themed cake for my sons 7th birthday im just now starting to experiment with cakes like this usually its just flowers and basics but im trying to get more custom icon_lol.gif i had made a big rice krispie treat tree and the tree turned out great but i couldnt get it to stand up on the cake any suggestions? Anyway I was proud of the cake and mostly kids were at the party so I didnt really get to share it with anyone so im sharing it with you all I hope you like it. ok well i cant figure out how to attach it but please look at it in my pics. thankyou. icon_biggrin.gif

for the tree you can stick a dowel through the tree and stick the end of the dowel into the cake. Sorry, I can't comment on your pic yet, I forgot to check it out. I'll look now!

I actually did use dowel rods still fell over maybe the tree was just to heavy.

I did a jungle cake a couple of years ago for my daughter it is in my pics. You can look there for ideas on the tree.

I make my trees out of the Pretzel Rods. You could try those and then just add the leaves at the top.

ive made pretzel rod trees i think there great but i was really looking for something more imposing is the word i guess.

I actually have one more question for all of you who have been so helpful I used to work in stores and casinos as a cake decorator you know basic stuff i am trying to get my name out there a little more for custom cakes but im not sure my skills are up to parr or if i have enought supplies so i was thinking of advertising that i will make cakes for cost in an effort to build my portfolio and my customer base what do you think?

You have to be careful advertising if you are not licensed. I am not licensed. I only do word of mouth, people I know, family and friends. If you are licensed go for it!

Im not licenced and i do have pretty good word of mouth going for me but nevada is a right to work state so i dont think there will be a problem or at least i hope not i will have to look into it besides if im only advertising my services for cost of supplies im not really selling anyting right?
