I wanted to make stars on pieces of wire out of MMF....How long does it take them to dry?? Also, what kind of wire do you all use....I have never done this before and need to do it in a hurry because I forgot about my grandparents anniversary which is tonight!! Also, I just kinda wanted an excuse to use my gold and silver luster dusts too! icon_redface.gif

I cannot make flowers....any flowers icon_confused.gif LOL so...that's kinda out of the question....Any ideas for a beginner's level...it's their 42nd anniversary and I was planning on making just a 2 layer 10"round.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice!! icon_biggrin.gif

I believe it is just non coated floral wire. Not sure how long to dry though. Maybe you could do royal icing stars if not enough time for fondant to dry completely.

I made stars popping out of a cake a few months ago. Sorry no picture but I used green floral wire because that is all I had and I made them out of mmf and they only took a few hours to dry enough that I could use them. Good Luck.

I wouldnt imagine they would take too long. If you had time I would do them now and put them on the cake last. That way you give them more then enough time to dry. But the sooner you start on them the better. Good luck.

Thanks everyone!! I already have some green floral wire....that's what I'll have to use.

Didn't I read somewhere on here where you could dry your fondant out faster in the oven or something??

Just the oven light, no heat.

A fan or other air blowing is another method.
