I don't use custard in my cakes, my family doesn't like it. But i had my cousin (costumer) request custard & strawberry filling. I don't wanna buy a whole pastry filling bag for just one SMALL cake. what to do?

Make a small batch of vanilla pastry cream. Super easy, but MUST be refrigerated.

Buy some cook n serve vanilla jell pudding mix and some strawberry jam. I make trifle cake all the time! Ice ith stabilized whipped cream. Torte the layers of course and you will soon be overcome with requests. I used to cook up a batch of custard, but nobody notices the substitution.
Instant is icky.
