Sarah,
I would love to find some boxes to buy but haven't come up with any yet. The rubber maid bin works great. I am just a hobbyist so I don't sell cakes. I want to have them covered and it was SO easy to take down to my mother in laws. I had to drive and didn't have to worry that there was no one to hold the cake.
Thanks for liking my cake. icon_smile.gif
Well, I've got my recipes picked out for tomorrow. I just can't stand it. I haven't done one since Friday. icon_smile.gif I don't know what I will do with it though. LOL.

do you have a party supply store nearby? Where I used to live there was a Party America store and they had cake boxes in all sizes. You might try somewhere like that. Just a suggestion.

Hum, I think there may be a party store about a half hour away. I'll have to check it. THanks,

OK- I may be weird, but I just cover my finished cakes with a clean white dishtowel after they have crusted for a little while (hour or so), then cover them with plastic wrap to deliver if they are sheet cakes, or with towels in the back of the exped. if it is for a wedding. I live far, far away from any supply stores so I kind of make do....

Sorry I cannot remember who gave this idea about the rubbermaid boxes on here, and that her Husband made the bottoms to fit on the lid. It was the one for Tips. Well I only use the rubbermaid boxes now, and it does save me alot of money not having to buy cardboard cake boxes. Great Idea. Thanks to all. This is a great site.

This is a great idea! Also, about wondering what the customer would think about a cake being delivered that's not in a "bakery" box....Duff never boxes his cakes. Of course, they are usually too big to box, but they just set them in the back of a van/suv/car (even open air Jeep) and go. icon_smile.gif

You know I understand when they are to big for boxes...But I had one customer (one of my firsts) that looked at me funny when I delivered a 12 x 18 not in a box...like I had the plague or something icon_sad.gif SOOOOOooo I made it a hard effort to find a box that fit all my cakes....Except for the huge ones.

I just dont have the room for the big storage containers icon_sad.gif

And besides that I love to use my white and pink cake boxes with the little pink ribbon icon_biggrin.gif

(Im a pink lover icon_smile.gif )
