hi,
does anyone know how to make a cake look like its burst open at the top?
I'm going to put butterflies on wires and I want it to look like they are coming out of the middle.
Are there instructions anywhere? I don't think that I've seen any posts on how to do this...

thankyou

I would cover the top in black fondant or modeling chocolate and then cover the whole cake in fondant. then you can just cut a jagged whole in the top layer of fondant and roll back the edges to make it look ripped. the black would be underneith it.
