a couple of years ago, one of our local stations got that bright idea, too. Their ratings dropped thru the toilet and they are now owned by another company with a whole different format. Duh!!!

I have been playing a Christmas song for a few days now icon_redface.gif I want my 3 year old to sing it to his grandma. icon_twisted.gif Guess which song, I have high hopes for the year. icon_evil.gif
I don't like starting the season until after Thanksgiving, the stores start so early now. One store in our area started putting Christmas stuff up about the time school started.

Of course my cousin-in-law puts her tree up the first week of November at the latest and complains about it by Christmas, she takes it down the day after.

My sister is darn close to your cousin in law. She puts her tree up (fake no less) up Thanksgiving weekend then down it comes the day after Christmas.

DH keeps talking about needing to get down our outside decorations to see if we have enough for our new house so we can go buy more or whatever. I keep telling him not until after Thanksgiving. I just can't get in the mood this early. Its not even cold yet!!

And Christmas carols sorta make me sad. icon_redface.gif They bring up the hope for a nice family enjoyable Christmas then that hope gets knocked by all the memories of stressful fighting. bleh... bahhumbug One year I'm going to spend it on a white sandy beach....

I told my husband he needs to get the lights up this weekend, I won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving, but it's been above freezing during the day everyday. We live in North Dakota so December has temps in the negatives quite often.
I've been getting ready to start decorating the inside but what I've been doing is cleaning and bringing the boxes in so the glass stuff has a chance to warm up before I handle it.

The family fights is why I don't go see my parents during the holiday. We spend it with my husband's family and no one on that side is into the big fights even if they don't like the other person.

We've seen decorations up in people's yards already. Too early for me!

We put our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving and take it down New Year's day. I'm not really looking forward to it this year, though. I know my youngest is not gonna leave it alone!! It may just be decorated on the top!!

There's generally no fights on the holiday but its getting to it. Who's going where at what time to do what and how do we get to see everyone. I always take off the day after Christmas b/c I'm exhausted.

I would love to be able to stay at home for Christmas with just my husband and boys. I grew up in the military so we didn't have family to go visit for Christmas and would stay home and maybe have a couple soldiers that couldn't go home for Christmas. My mom would lay out a nice cold meal, she baked for over a month before Christmas and we would play with our toys all day and got to eat whatever we wanted.

We have to get up, open presents, go to my MIL's to open presents and then go to one of my husband's aunt's house for dinner. My MIL generally expects us over for Christmas Eve dinner too, but it's just the four of us and my MIL & FIL.

I know people who go to six different houses just on Christmas day, they have kids and drag them with too and I just couldn't do that.

Yeah, I couldn't do that either. Ours isn't nearly as hectic but it is enough b/c everyone wants to do theirs first. My family forgets we have DH's family to visit b/c my brother doesn't and my sister doesn't (for various reasons).

I told my coworker today that one Christmas soon I'll be spending it on a warm, white sandy beach. I plan to leave a few days before the holiday and staying till after New Years. Sounds like a great way to spend it.
