so today i baked my first batch of NFSC. i wanted to give them a try to see if i enjoy baking and decorating cookies as much as i love to do cakes. i don't have any cookie cutters (other than the teeny tiny ones) so i just freehanded a few. nothing too crazy.
anyway, they are cooling right now and i'm going to decorate them later.
so far, i'm not as excited about them as i am when i am working on a cake.

what about everyone else? do you prefer to do cakes or cookies?

Im all about the cake... cookies seem to tedious to me. I love how they look but I think I would not have the patience to get them done.
I suppose I should give it a try someday though to see if its fun or not. icon_cool.gif

I made my first batch of NFSC for Halloween and I loved then! I think I enjoy them both (cake and cookies) but there is more of a demand for cakes.

i like them both. So far the cookies I've done haven't been too detailed, so it seems easier. It's definitely easier to get a cookie smooth than a cake!

Cake all the way! Cookies are alright, but too small. I don't mind doing cookies with my kids though at the holidays. We do have fun doing that. icon_biggrin.gif

I love them both........but I gotta side with the cake......way more room for creativity as far as I'm concerned!! At least.....I'm personally much less creative when it comes to cookies.

Both!! I love to bake; cookies, cakes, muffins, bread...you name it. There is nothing better than pulling a treat out of a hot oven, except maybe eating it. As far as decorating, each has it's on drawbacks and rewards. If I goof a cookie there is usually several dozen more to practice on until I find a technique I like. Not so with cakes. But with cakes once a project is done it's done. With cookies there are several dozen more to do. A catch 22 of sorts I guess.

Hi,
I've just begun decorating cookies and really like how the ideas are endless. Some of you wonderful people from CC are fabulous decorators both with cookies and of course cakes. Cookies are very time consuming but it is fun to experiment. For instance the snowflakes this morning were outstanding!! Guess all I can say is for me it's fun doing both and I'm finding it more personally rewarding each time no matter which one I'm doing. Happy baking and decorating everyone. You are all awesome!!!

Decorating the cookies is quite tedious, but I enjoy it. I think I like cakes more for making and cookies more for eating

I like to do both, I prefer cake but I'll do either. That's probably because the only reason I do cookies is to decorate, I don't like sugar cookies.
My children both want decorated cookies for Christmas and my oldest wants to give cookie bouqets as teacher gifts.

The only cookie decorating I don't like is fancy cookie houses, my grandma used to make me do them. I have other kids come over and we make kid cookie houses every year but they aren't display types.
