I *THINK* I've read that they paint on silver luster dust until they get the color they want... I've never done it, but I'm sure soon enough someone will come soon that knows!!

If you use chocolate fondant and paint it with super pearl dust, it will make a lovely shade of silver.

Silver luster dust diluted with a little vodka or lemon juice; paint it on with a soft brush.

If you need a lot of silver and have an airbrush, you could paint it on- it would go much faster for you than brushing it on (although that is also a very effective method). I airbrushed my disco ball (page #2 in my gallery if you wanted to see it).

Good luck!!

Oh yeah and the BEST silver luster of all time (according to me- because it gives the best coverage) is Silver Luster C410. I think its more expensive than the NuSilver product that is out there, but totally worth it (IMHO). Here's a link on the net if you can't get it at a local cake supply store.

Look under the sticky that is in this forum. Shirley describes how to do it.
