Has anyone taken the Master Course at the Wilton School? And if you have was it much more than Course I, II, and III?

Or is there anyother courses out there that are not a real long time. I am not close to any type of culinary schools, and could probably never go longer than a week or two.

Thanks

The Wilton Masters Course at the Wilton school is about $800 if I remember right. There is also a $150 registration fee.

sorry for the confusion. What I meant was is the master's course much better than course I,II,III. I am really interested in going but don't want to invest that much $$$ or 2 weeks time if it is not that much more.

Or I am looking for other courses to go to to learn much much more.

Thanks to you all for your help, and again sorry for not making sense in the first post.

The courses that I really want to take are from CalJava. You can look online at www.caljava.com. They are taught buy the best and seem to be priced well. The travel is what would make them expensive, I will have to save up. Look it up and read about them.

The Wilton Masters is geared to instructors and people looking to be professionals. More detailed flower and border work as well as tiering, stacking etc. I don't know how involved you want to get. The nice thing about this course is Wilton offers it in a 2 week session or crams it all into weekends only for 1 month out of the year for those who can't do during the week.

I've also taken Advanced Wedding Cakes from my Wilton instructors, it's just their own curriculum. The same with gumpaste. We also have cake shops here in DFW that offer very advanced classes. To me, once you learn it all you can pick up more by books, food network, and this site! The basics are the basics, ya know? The creativity comes from you.
Blessings!

blessingandblossoms,

Where are the places you can take workshops/courses in DFW area. My mother in law lives in the area and I could always say, "well, while I am here I might as well...".

It is about a 7 hour drive from home.

Thanks for your help

I'd like more info. about the CalJava link, too. I got the same search page when I clicked on it so I couldn't see anything about the classes.

The course goes into more depth on things covered in the first three courses, and then gives new instruction on more involved decorating. It also gives you ways to design your own creation. I'm a hands on learner, so for me taking courses has also been better. Once I've learned the subject I can be independent in my decorating and creating. Wilton also has other courses offered at their on site school that you can take in conjunction with the masters course.

I am so jealous, she is like my inspiration. I love Bronwen. She has the most creative and gorgeous cakes. I love watching her on the food network. I aspire to be that talented some day.

My wife is going to the Bronwen class in March. She has studied under Earlene, and is taking a class from B Keith Ryder this weekend. She is hoping to pick his brain since he is staying at our house during the course.
